Aristeia Blog Tour: Part 2!

Welcome back to part 2 of the Aristeia Blog Tour!!!  I have a very special treat today.  I invited miss Saracasi, a main character from Aristeria, to join me today.  Lets see what she has to say!

Saracasi, where did your name come from? Your name is gorgeous!
Thank you.  My name stems from the ancient Cait, forebears to my Ocait clan. The ancient name Sarcasitori meant "feared hunter". But I doubt my parents thought about that when they picked it. They just liked the name.

You're a pretty strong willed young-lady, how old are you?
27 galactic standard years.  That's about 25.65 of your Terran years.  Though, by Braz's year, I'm almost 29.

What do you think of your brother, Maarkean? Do you think he really believes you are a traitor?
My brother is...complicated. I love him without question, don't get me wrong there.  But he's very stubborn sometimes.  He's served the Alliance without question most of his life but he's not stupid.  He has to be aware of the things they've done.   Does he think me a traitor?  No, I don't think so, not really.  Part of him I'm sure does. But he couldn't really, otherwise I don't think he would have gotten me off of Braz.

Do you think your loyalties will change, now that you have been branded a traitor?
Loyalty to what? The Alliance. I wasn't actually a model citizen before. Kind of why I'm wanted as a traitor. I don't see my attitude toward them improving any time soon.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Jilberry Tarts.  They're just so delicious, the way the tartness of the berry juice mixes with the sugar.  They're terrible for me though so in away it's good I don't get to have them very often.  Not a lot of jilberry trees off of Braz, though I'm sure some have been exported.

Do you have any bad habits?
My brother would say I have a habit of getting myself into trouble. I'm not sure I'd say that's really a bad habit though.

What is your favorite memory?
The day my brother came home from the war. I was only 5 when he enlisted.  We saw him off and on for the next two years while he trained, but he shipped off to the front when I was 7.  We didn't see him again for four years.  My parents were so happy when he returned.  He proposed to Eyris right on the spot.
.  What is your most treasured possession?
I don't really have one.  When we fled Braz, I didn't exactly get a chance to pack. I guess I'd have to say my brother's ship, Cutty Sark. She's been my home for the last few years.

Do you have any hobbies?
I enjoy tinkering with the ship.  She doesn't get a lot of formal maintenance work, mostly just me.  But when something isn't broken, I like to see if there's anything I can improve.  Maarkean didn't like it at first, but I managed to squeeze a little bit more speed out of the hyperdrive without blowing us up, he stopped complaining.

If you could get a tattoo, what would it be and why?
I'd never get a tattoo.  To mar my body with one beyond my clan's screfa tattoo on my face would be disrespectful to the clan.

Tell me about your parents...what are they like? when did you see them last?
My parents were wonderful but they died 14 years ago....14 years...its been more years since they died than I was alive when it happened...I'd rather not talk about that anymore.

Have you ever had a pet?
No. Pets are not unheard of on Braz, but it's not really as common as it is among you Terrans.

Thank you, Saracasi for joining us today!  It has been so much fun learning more about you!
Thank you too, for having me.

Don't forget about all of the contests being held during the tour!  You can find the first book, Aristeia: Revolutionary Right on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Kobo in ebook, paperback and hardback.  Happy Blog Tour Day!!
